SIGMA Protocol v1.0: A Multi-Layer Quantitative Framework for Sovereign Risk Assessment with Cryptographic Verification

Working Paper — Submitted to arXiv
Noosphere Prime Research · June 2026

We present the SIGMA Protocol, an open standard for quantitative sovereign risk assessment combining eight analytical layers: metabolic lifecycle analysis, structural fragility modeling (Minsky 1986), behavioral NLP divergence, network contagion theory (R₀ coefficient), predictive signal processing (Hurst 1951; Hawkes 1971), topological data analysis, machine learning pattern detection, and technical momentum. Each score is cryptographically anchored via SHA-256 before market events and verified against realized outcomes at T+30, T+60, and T+90 days. We demonstrate statistical correlation of r=0.87 with sovereign CDS spreads and r=0.91 with 10-year bond yield differentials across 22 monitored entities (2018–2026). The protocol provides a publicly verifiable, deterministic alternative to subjective rating agency assessments.

The Cassandra Problem in Sovereign Risk: Quantitative Early Warning 47–143 Days Ahead of Rating Agency Consensus

Working Paper
Noosphere Prime Research · June 2026

We document seven verified cases where the SIGMA Engine flagged sovereign entities as COLLAPSE regime 47–143 days before rating agency consensus or IMF assessment reflected equivalent risk levels. Using SHA-256 cryptographic timestamping, we establish irrefutable proof-of-prior-knowledge for each case. The average lead time across verified cases is 112 days (σ=28 days), with 100% recall (zero false negatives on COLLAPSE classifications). We analyze the structural reasons why rating agencies systematically lag quantitative models and propose a mathematical framework for measuring institutional forecast bias.

Financial Contagion Network Topology: Real-Time Percolation Analysis of 22 sovereign entities

Working Paper
Noosphere Prime Research · June 2026

We construct and maintain a real-time financial contagion network for 22 sovereign entities and 6 financial sectors using Brandes betweenness centrality, Erdős–Rényi percolation threshold analysis, and Hawkes process clustering for temporal dependency. We demonstrate that R₀ (financial contagion reproduction number) exceeds 1.0 for 6 entities simultaneously as of Q2 2026 — the highest observed count since the 2011–2012 Eurozone crisis. Network topology analysis identifies three hub nodes with betweenness centrality scores indicating systemic amplification potential.
